Theresa Bosteder accepts her award

Theresa Bosteder, adult/continuing education, and workforce development office coordinator and Support Staff of Elgin Community College Association (SSECCA) secretary, was recognized with the 2018 William Foulkes Support Staff of the Year Award during the college’s annual Employee Awards and Recognition reception on Thursday, May 17.

“Theresa is a true support staff professional who works diligently for the mission of SSECCA and the college, volunteers on many committees and for causes that she believes in, and seeks excellence in everything that she does,” said Bob Treadwell, groundskeeper, and SSECCA president. “On behalf of the entire SSECCA membership, we are proud to honor Theresa with the William Foulkes Support Staff of the Year Award.”

The award is given annually to a full- or part-time ECC support staff member who demonstrates continued excellence in service, leadership, and professionalism. It is named in honor of the late William “Bill” Foulkes who served as SSECCA vice president and chief contract negotiator while working in a grant program at ECC before his death in June of 1989. The recipient is given a plaque and cash honorarium from SSECCA. Career and Veteran Specialist Anitra King received the award last year.

The mission of SSECCA is to be “a dynamic supportive organization for its members, providing high-quality service” through its values of community, communication, liaison, collective bargaining, education, integrity, diversity, and professional excellence.
