Elgin Community College will hold an adult student information session on Tuesday, July 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Building B Alumni Room, Room B182, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Adults who are considering returning to school or enrolling in college for the first time are invited to attend the free event.
“The adult information session will help people jump-start their educational journeys at ECC and provides assistance in the enrollment process, bringing them one step closer to their dream careers,” said Jennifer McClure, managing director of enrollment services.
During the event, knowledgeable ECC staff will help attendees navigate the admissions process; explore degree and certificate options that fit their specific lifestyle and career goals; evaluate prior college credit and explore proficiency credit options; understand financial aid, scholarships and payment plans; and learn about additional college resources including tutoring, academic advising and career services.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information: first name, last name, date of birth, phone number and number of guest(s) attending. If possible, attendees should bring their transcripts.
Individuals can increase their skill set, employability, job security and lifetime earnings with a degree or certificate. Some programs of study offer night or weekend classes to accommodate students who work full time. Tuition reimbursement may be offered by area companies; potential students should check with their employers for details.
