Prospective Students


  • AccessECC-student portal: Enter into the browser URL and log in with your student credentials on your phone or web browser.
  • Computers: Chromebooks are available for checkout at the Library. If you need it for summer classes at ECC, let us know at
  • D2L My Classes: Online courses are a part of the D2L learning environment.
  • D2L Student Orientation: Classes, online tutoring, and librarians within the platform.
  • D2L Technical Assistance: login, find out the server status, and get technical support.
  • Drive-Up wi-fi Hotspots: Illinois state agencies released a wi-fi hotspot map to help students without internet access at home.
  • Gmail (Faculty & Student): When prompted, enter your full ECC student email address ( and your portal password.
  • Google Meet: Use your student email, and this tool lets dozens of people join the same virtual meeting and speak or share videos from anywhere with Internet access.
  • Library Circulation Department: Services will be available to students remotely, curbside, and in person. The library building is open from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You can find more information on the library website, Questions? Email

  • Technology: If your course requires specific technology, please contact the instructor for help in identifying the appropriate device you need to check out from the ECC Library.
  • Wireless Internet: Several providers are offering discounted wi-fi services.


Getting Support

  • Academic Advising: Student Services will offer academic advising remotely and on-campus on a limited basis. To be placed on the drop-in list to speak to an advisor, call 847-214-7390. Questions? Email
  • Academic Records: Outgoing transcripts and other services are available on the AccessECC portal. Questions? Email
  • Apprenticeships: Employers are actively hiring their fall apprentices. Please email Lisa Utley or complete the interest form.

  • Career Development Services: Appointments are offered on-campus and remotely via Zoom and Telephone. Schedule your appointment on the AccessECC portal or by calling 847-214-7390. Questions? Email
  • Financial Aid: Our office is open to assist students with answering their financial aid questions and helping them complete their FAFSA and required forms and documents. We will also accept paperwork via email or fax (847-608-5460). Financial Aid will be awarded, and students who qualify for federal and/or state grants will be notified via their student email. If a student is not eligible for any grants, a letter will be mailed informing them and inviting them to contact our office regarding other forms of aid, including scholarships, student employment, and student loans.   • International Education and Programs: International students should check their email frequently for updates and important information from the Center for International Education and Programs about maintaining nonimmigrant status. For homestay questions or issues, please email Natalie Escobar at For homestay emergencies, please call the 24/7 emergency line at 563-271-3294. Study abroad programming is suspended for summer 2021 due to COVID-19.   • Internships: Begin or continue planning for your placement. Please email Joseph Onesimus or complete the interest form.
  • Recruitment: Prospective students may request on-campus appointments by emailing or calling 847-214-7385. Campus virtual tours are now offered using the sign-up form. Limited on-site tours are now available. 
  • Registration: To schedule an on-campus appointment, call 847-214-7393.
  • Resources for the Unemployed: Local are employers hiring. If you or a family member need a resume, one-on-one coaching, and other services, call ECC's Job Transitions Coordinator at 847-214-6970.
  • Scholarships: If you have applied for a Foundation or Board of Trustees Academic Scholarship and, if you are awarded one (or both), you will receive an email confirming which scholarship(s) you receive and the amount(s). Applications are still being accepted, and you can go to the application page to apply. If your private scholarship is mailed to ECC, please check with the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at 847-214-7360 to confirm ECC received it and that you have been awarded the scholarship. If your sponsor cannot send the check at this time, let us know so that we can help you.
  • Software at Home: Get a free Microsoft Office 365 with the Free Office 365 Education offers. Enter your student Gmail address ( and click "Get Started." Click, "I'm a student." Enter your First/Last Name and Date of birth as required to sign up with Microsoft. Please create a new password for your Microsoft account (we do not recommend using the same ECC password). Check your student Gmail inbox for an email from Microsoft with the required 6-digit verification code (this takes a few minutes). Click "Start" to complete the sign-up process.
  • Student Success and Judicial Affairs: If you receive communication from your academic advisor or John Long, please know the purpose is to assist you. Respond to the request to meet as quickly as possible. Advisors can conduct meetings by phone or online. If you are experiencing challenges, whether academic or personal (or somewhere in between) and are unsure of where to go or who to speak with, contact John Long directly. He's here to help.
  • Spartan Pantry: ECC Students can receive pre-assembled food packages. Additional food pantries in Kane County are listed. Questions? Email
  • Student Accounts: For current information on hours, please visit the Student Accounts Home Page. Need to make a payment? Log in to your accessECC account. Go to the Self-Service Menu Select Student Menu; click Student Finance and then select Make a Payment.
  • Student Disabilities Services: This office remains ready to assist students in any way possible. If you have not yet requested accommodation letters through our new online system, go to Disability Services, under Returning Students, click on Request Form. If you are new to Student Disabilities Services, click on the Registration Form. Questions or concerns regarding your accommodations?   • Student Life: Following COVID protocols, both meetings and activities are offered virtually and on campus at this time. To see which events are available, visit or check our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates. New and replacement Student Photo IDs are available in the Student Life office Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Testing Services: Remote Testing is available for ReadingWriting, and Math placement. For more information, visit Testing Services for steps to access these tests. If you do not have access to complete testing remotely, we offer limited, appointment-only testing on-campus. Register for on-campus testing.

  • Veterans Services: Appointments with the Veteran Services Coordinator will be available on campus and remotely. Questions? Email our Veteran Services Coordinator, Anitra King.
  • Wellness Services: ECC students can work with a Wellness Professional on campus; however, most appointments will be scheduled as telehealth services for all registered ECC Students. Telehealth Services offer students the opportunity to speak with a Wellness Professional over the phone and engage in a therapeutic session in the safety of their home.  All scheduled sessions are confidential and HIPAA compliant.  If you need emotional support and would like to speak with a Wellness Professional, reach out, and schedule an appointment today. Wellness Services encourages all students to utilize these resources: The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) and The National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.
