Coach's Bio

Rick Ceh

Head Coach, Women’s Soccer

Rick Ceh has entered his fifth season as the head coach of ECC’s Women’s Soccer team. “Our top priorities for the Women’s Soccer program are to graduate all of our players and create an environment that makes their time at ECC a great experience,” said Coach Ceh. “I look forward to teaching our players the work ethic, discipline and dedication it takes to accomplish their goals!”

Rick is part of the Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) coaching education staff, a district head coach for the state’s Olympic Development Program (ODP), a staff coach for Region II ODP program and is a staff coach for high school girls, high school boys and other youth teams. Rick also won the 2017 Illinois Youth Soccer Competitive Coach of the Year Award.

An ECC alumnus, Rick was a two-year captain for the ECC men’s soccer team and two-time academic all-conference player. He won the Illinois Skyway Conference Dick Durrant Award, given to the top male student-athlete among all sports in the conference.

Outside of soccer, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. “Having the support of my family continues to help me reach all my life goals.”

Ceh’s credentials include: USSF A license, USSF National Youth license, NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA Youth Diploma, Coerver Youth Diploma, Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Certification, USSF certified referee, and certifications in CPR/AED and first aid.

Player Bios

Sierra Blazier

Sierra Blazier is a forward for the Elgin Spartans and a sophomore at ECC. Sierra played soccer at South Elgin High School and plans to transfer to Colorado State University in fall 2019.


Ann Marie Cardenas

Ann Marie Cardenas is a midfielder for the Elgin Spartans and a freshman at ECC. Ann Marie played in local leagues before joining the Spartans. In addition to her studies and commitment to the Women’s Soccer team, she works full-time as an orthodontist assistant.


Penny Cornelson

Penny Cornelson is a forward for the Elgin Spartans and a freshman at ECC.  Penny attended Geneva High School and played club soccer throughout her youth.


Camille Defensor

Camille Defensor is a midfielder for the Elgin Spartans and a freshman at ECC. Camille played soccer at South Elgin High School.


Corinne Figueiredo

Corinne Figueiredo is a goalkeeper for the Elgin Spartans and a freshman at ECC. She had a solid soccer career at South Elgin High School where she was the starting goalkeeper.


Daniela Garay

Daniela Garay is a midfielder for the Elgin Spartans and a freshman at ECC. She played in local leagues before joining the women’s soccer team. In the 2015 Women’s World Cup, Dani was able to watch two U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, including the semi-final match.


Ana Leon

Ana Leon, team co-captain, is a center back for the Elgin Spartans and a freshman at ECC.  Ana previously played soccer at Elgin High School.


Elizabeth Mendoza

Elizabeth Mendoza is a forward for the Elgin Spartans and a freshman at ECC.  Eli played soccer at South Elgin High School, where she scored many goals.


Elizabeth Munoz

Elizabeth Munoz is a center midfielder for the Elgin Spartans and a sophomore at ECC. She previously played club soccer for the Elgin Pumas.  Liz enjoys coaching for Little kickers and enjoys seeing her players smile, say hello, and give her hugs.


Perla Peralta

Perla Peralta, a defender for the Elgin Spartans, is a graduate of Elgin High School and a freshman at ECC. Perla played in local leagues before joining the women’s soccer team.


Kendra Rios

Kendra Rios, team co-captain, is a defender for the Elgin Spartans and a sophomore at ECC. She played soccer in local leagues before joining the ECC team. One of Kendra’s favorite soccer memories happened as a 9 year-old, when she watched Mia Hamm play.


Ana Rojas

Ana Rojas is a defender for the Elgin Spartans and a sophomore at ECC. She played in local leagues before joining the women’s team.


Gelsomina Spano

Gelsomina Spano is a center back for the Elgin Spartans and a sophomore at ECC. Ges played soccer at South Elgin High School and club soccer for Campton United. Ges scored the game winning goal against Triton College during her first year at ECC.


Natalie Thompson

Natalie Thompson, team co-captain, is a midfielder for the Elgin Spartans and a sophomore at ECC.  She previously played soccer at Wauconda High School. A personal highlight for Natalie was her trip to five European cities and countries last year, including Budapest, Prague, Paris, Scotland and Ireland.
