Play ball! And get a great education, too.
At Elgin Community College, you can reach your goals as a baseball player—and as a college student.
The Region 4 champion in 2017, our baseball team has qualified for the NJCAA World Series five times. Our alumni have gone on to play at Coastal Carolina, Eastern Illinois, Kent State, Wake Forest, and other top schools at every level of NCAA play.
The team competes on campus at the beautiful Spartan Baseball Field -- one of the finest baseball facilities in the state. It features a playing surface of Alabama crushed brick and 100 percent Kentucky bluegrass sod—the same sod used at Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The outfield has an eight-foot-high wood fence, and the backstop sports a three-foot-high cement wall with netting. Seating capacity for 500 and an outdoor hitting facility with two 70-foot-long tunnels and four catch net stations where players hone their skills.
The fall preseason runs from September 1 to October 15, with the official season starting in early January.
