Chief Human Resources Officer Position at Elgin Community College
Elgin Community College seeks an experienced human resources leader to serve as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The CHRO will join the president’s cabinet and oversee all HR administrative functions to advance the College's mission.
ECC serves diverse communities northwest of Chicago across five counties and recently celebrated 75 years of service. The college is recognized as an Achieving the Dream Leader College of Distinction and a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
The CHRO will focus on improving HR processes and systems through technology and human capital management. Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. They should also have at least ten years of increasing responsibility in HR.
Key qualifications include:
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements and Labor/Management issues, preferably as a chief negotiator or negotiations team member.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR services, budget administration, and HRIS systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, integrity, and ethical standards in high-pressure situations.
Chief Institutional Success and Engagement Officer at Elgin Community College
Elgin Community College seeks an experienced and passionate leader who will help create a learning and working environment where all students, employees, and community members have an opportunity to succeed to serve as the Chief Institutional Success and Engagement Officer (CISEO). The CISEO is a senior-level management position reporting directly to the President and serving on the President’s Cabinet.

The CISEO leads the development and implementation of proactive initiatives in support of the College’s strategic plan to create a learning and working environment where all students, employees, and community members have an opportunity to succeed. Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree in higher education, sociology, human resources, management, public administration or other related field and have at least five years of successful experience advancing access, success, and engagement and community building in a complex organization.
Key qualifications include:
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all constituents and diverse and multicultural groups/populations.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate a common vision and collaborative culture to achieve institutional goals and values.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
