Chief Human Resources Officer Position at Elgin Community College

Elgin Community College seeks an experienced human resources leader to serve as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The CHRO will join the president’s cabinet and oversee all HR administrative functions to advance the College's mission.

ECC serves diverse communities northwest of Chicago across five counties and recently celebrated 75 years of service. The college is recognized as an Achieving the Dream Leader College of Distinction and a Hispanic-Serving Institution.

The CHRO will focus on improving HR processes and systems through technology and human capital management. Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and have at least ten years of increasing responsibility in HR.

Key qualifications include:

• Experience with collective bargaining agreements and Labor/Management issues, preferably as a chief negotiator or negotiations team member.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HR services, budget administration, and HRIS systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, integrity, and ethical standards in high-pressure situations.
