Patron Safety and Our Commitment
The ECC Arts Center will continue to follow the best practices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Kane County Health Department. As our knowledge and understanding continue to evolve, the College’s policies and plans will adapt as appropriate and in compliance with state and local guidelines.
If you have questions, please call the box office at 847-622-0300.
We look forward to seeing you at the Arts Center
As we strive to improve people’s lives through the arts, your health and safety are critical to us. It brings us joy to welcome your return to live events at the Elgin Community College Arts Center. It is our goal to create a great and safe experience for you.
To ensure the safety of everyone in the theatre, the following policies will be in place for all audiences attending events.
Proof of Vaccination or Negative Test
Effective October 22, 2021, we will require proof of vaccination or a negative test within 72 hours of the performance. The vaccination card should have a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention logo in the upper right corner. If you lost the card or did not receive one, you can return to the provider and request documentation or contact your state's health department's immunization information system. Alternatively, you may provide a COVID-19 negative test result from pharmacies, such as Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, Jewel-Osco, Walmart, and Target.
Proof of ID
Adults must show a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport) as proof of identification. Patrons under the age of 18 may use a school photo ID. A parent must accompany children under 12 without an ID.
All audience members for live performances must wear masks over the nose and mouth at all times. Masks are available in the lobby of the ECC Arts Center if you forget to bring yours.
Reduced Capacity and Socially Distanced Seating
We reduced our audience size to approximately 50 percent capacity. We blocked off two empty seats between all sales in each row. Patrons are asked to take their seats shortly after arriving at the Arts Center. Some events may not have an intermission to minimize congregating in the lobby.
Increased Airflow (HVAC) and Improved Ventilation
We have increased fresh air volume into the auditorium in our HVAC system. Our reduced capacity allows the ventilation system designed for a capacity of 800 to only have to exchange air for 350 patrons. Routine air quality testing is occurring throughout campus.
Temperature Checking Stations
In the lobby of ECC Arts Center and throughout ECC’s campus, visitors can voluntarily check their temperature.
Hand Sanitizer Stations
Sanitizing stations are situated strategically across campus, including the lobby of the ECC Arts Center.
Sanitizing and Cleaning
Deep cleaning of all ECC facilities is done regularly by ECC staff. There is an increased frequency of cleaning throughout the building for high-touch areas in the front of house and back of house areas.
Hands-Free Ticket Check In
Ushers will scan your print-at-home ticket or e-ticket using a ticket scanning device.
We ask that you do not come to the Arts Center if you are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, coughing, or difficulty breathing, within 14 days of the event.
