Program Description

Catalog Year: 2019

The surgical technology certificate prepares students to become skilled and valued members of the operating room team. On campus courses in combination with clinical practice in hospitals equip students to work under the direction of a surgeon and operating room nurse where duties as a surgical technologist include preparing the operating room, handling instruments and supplies during the procedure, and ensuring patient safety.
