ECC Manufacturing and Technology Center
Elgin Community College (ECC) has released a new video showcasing the exciting progress of its 150,000-square-foot Manufacturing and Technology Center, currently under construction on campus. The video features before-and-after visuals offering viewers a firsthand look at the project’s transformation from initial site work, such as the demolition of the former D Hang Out Bar & Grill, to its current construction milestones.
With the building foundations now complete, the community can see the full footprint of the future facility, which is slated to open in the fall of 2026. This week, the next major milestone begins as structural steel erection gets underway, starting with columns and followed by cross beams. In the coming weeks, floor and roof joists will begin arriving on-site, continuing the upward momentum of the project.
The facility is a major investment in the college’s future, reflecting ECC’s commitment to innovation, hands-on learning, and regional economic growth. As the structure begins to take shape above ground, the college is eager to share ongoing updates and engage the community in the journey.
