Join us for an impactful virtual event about achieving social, political, and institutional change. Whether it is a small rule or policy at your school that you would like to change or a larger socio-political issue that you want to impact, knowing some of the basics of civil discourse and power will help you prepare for and navigate the challenges of this endeavor. A spoken-word artist and activist, Denise Frohman, will provide an artistic interpretation of activism. Two Elgin City Council members, Tish Powell and Baldemar Lopez, will join Frohman in speaking about their journey and role in making a change in the community. This event was made possible through a collaborative effort between College of DuPage, College of Lake County, Elgin Community College, Harper College, McHenry County College, and Waubonsee Community College.
