Alison McVey

Alison McVey is a second-year Elgin Community College student who graduated from South Elgin High School in 2021, where she was awarded a medal for having above a 4.0 GPA as well as being named an Illinois State Scholar. She is a part of ECC’s honors program and the honors society, Phi Theta Kappa. In her first year at ECC, she served as the Information officer on the leadership team of Phi Theta Kappa. She has now transitioned to her new role as the student trustee and continues to be active in student government.

McVey is currently working toward an Associate in Science degree and will transfer to a four-year university after the spring 2023 semester. Ultimately, she plans to continue her studies in medical school to become a surgeon. McVey’s hobbies consist of volunteering at local animal shelters, reading science fiction, drawing, and painting.
