See the technology section below.

Campus Health & Safety
Face-to-face instruction on campus will be conducted with protective measures, including regular sanitizing of college facilities and social distancing following federal and state guidelines. Per the revised Illinois State Mandate, COVID-19 vaccinations or weekly COVID-19 testing are now required for all higher education employees and students. The college will provide necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including hand washing and sanitizing products and face coverings for students and faculty. Classes held on campus may have class size limitations based upon the physical distancing that can be safely accommodated within their assigned classrooms.
ECC will continue to deliver a high-quality academic experience for students enrolled in online and hybrid courses. ECC will offer an increased number of hybrid and face-to-face classes for the spring semester and add additional hybrid and face-to-face classes to the schedule based upon demand and updates related to COVID-19.
Due to the pandemic, additional funding for financial aid and scholarships is available to support your educational goals. Make sure you apply for financial aid and scholarships for the upcoming school year. To learn more, please get in touch with one of our financial aid advisors. If you are not eligible for a grant and need a student loan, please email us at email@example.com. We can accept financial aid forms and documents via email. You can also fax forms or documents to 847-608-5460 or mail them to Elgin Community College, Financial Aid and Scholarships, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, IL 60123.
To apply for scholarships, visit the Scholarships page. If you receive a private scholarship mailed to ECC, please check with us to confirm that the office has received it and that you have been awarded the scholarship. If your sponsor cannot send the check at this time, let us know to help you.
Sizes of Student Groups
ECC may reduce class sizes to accommodate social distancing guidelines during face-to-face instruction, and ECC may add additional lab sections to accommodate smaller groups. In some cases, ECC may break up larger groups in adjacent rooms.
Student Support Services & Faculty Office Hours
Since the onset of the pandemic, hundreds of students have utilized our student services remotely. Although virtual services will still be available during this spring, all student support services will be provided on-campus as well, including admissions, academic advising, financial aid, student accounts, wellness services, and more. Instructors will deliver faculty office hours virtually this semester.
To be successful in the online learning environment, students will need to be equipped with the necessary technology, such as a laptop or Chromebook, and access to the Internet. If you do not have access to these resources and need assistance, please contact the Library Circulation Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org for Chromebook requests and email@example.com to request Wi-Fi hotspots.
Please note: The college's priority is to distribute resources to students who do not have access to online technology at home. These resources are available to students enrolled in credit and adult education classes, such as High School Equivalency (HSE) exam prep and English as a Second Language (ESL).
