In order for you all to understand the true impact ECC has had on me and how it changed my life in a way I didn’t think was possible, I have to give you some backstory first, and we’re going to get right into it:

Life is busy. There is no easy way to put it. Between attending classes, working a job (or two), and seeing friends and family, it all adds up! It is easy to get overwhelmed. At Elgin Community College, we understand. We want to remind you that you are not alone.

As I grew into adulthood, I began to recognize the power of education, not just in the classroom, but in the positive impact it can have on society. As I come near the end of my time at Elgin Community, I look back with admiration, knowing that every challenge, every asked question, and every late night of studying have brought me closer to my dream of becoming an educator.

While some might say that growth is not something that happens overnight, for me at ECC, growth felt like something I was constantly experiencing. As I began at ECC in the summer of 2022, I was fearful and uncertain of the journey that was ahead of me.
