As the new head coach for the Women’s Volleyball program at Elgin Community College, Jason LeBlanc brings over 30 years of combined playing and coaching experience to the organization.  Over the past five years, he has coached at Sky High Volleyball Club in Crystal Lake, Illinois.  During his years while coaching club volleyball, he has worked with multiple age groups ranging from 14’s to 18’s.  In addition, he has coached volleyball at Woodstock North High School in Woodstock, Illinois.  Jason thoroughly understands the game, and what it takes to build a program and ultimately win matches.  He has the ability to break the skills down and teach the game of volleyball to his players. He has personally played multiple positions, most notably setter, outside hitter and back row positions.

Jason met his wife while they both played volleyball here at Elgin Community College from 1994 through 1995.  The two have been married for 17 years and have two daughters, future Spartan volleyball players.

Jason is very excited to be returning to the volleyball program at ECC as the new head coach and is up for the challenge.  His main goal is to build the Women’s Volleyball program to be one of the region’s best.

The ECC women’s volleyball program is pleased to welcome back former player Rachel Peara as an assistant coach for the team’s 2013 season.

Rachel is well qualified for the position having a diversified background in the sport. She started playing club volleyball for Straight Down when she was 10 and continued with the Cyclones.  Rachel also played the sport in middle school and at East Aurora High School.  In high school, she started out as a setter on the sophomore team and then moved up to varsity. Moved up to the varsity team in her sophomore year, Rachel was a setter and middle hitter, and became solely a setter in her junior year. In her senior year, she started out as a setter but then was moved to outside hitter.  She ended her club playing career with the Illinois Heat as an outside hitter, and continued her involvement with the organization as an assistant coach.

Rachel attended ECC in 2011 and 2012 and played on the women’s volleyball team as an outside hitter both years.  In 2012, she was named to the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference All-Conference Team and the ISCC All-Tournament Team.
