The ECC women’s volleyball program is pleased to welcome back former player Rachel Peara as an assistant coach for the team’s 2013 season.

Rachel is well qualified for the position having a diversified background in the sport. She started playing club volleyball for Straight Down when she was 10 and continued with the Cyclones.  Rachel also played the sport in middle school and at East Aurora High School.  In high school, she started out as a setter on the sophomore team and then moved up to varsity. Moved up to the varsity team in her sophomore year, Rachel was a setter and middle hitter, and became solely a setter in her junior year. In her senior year, she started out as a setter but then was moved to outside hitter.  She ended her club playing career with the Illinois Heat as an outside hitter, and continued her involvement with the organization as an assistant coach.

Rachel attended ECC in 2011 and 2012 and played on the women’s volleyball team as an outside hitter both years.  In 2012, she was named to the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference All-Conference Team and the ISCC All-Tournament Team.
