August 24, 2010 - The Spartans will open their season by competing at the 7th Annual Hawk Invitational at Plum Grove Reservoir in Palatine on Saturday, August 28. The meet, hosted by Harper College, will have the women's teams starting their two mile run at 10:00 a.m. More »
Season Outlook
This year's 2010 team should be exciting to watch! We've added depth to a roster that had gone to the NJCAA Nationals last year. The returning runners are Sarah Cebulko from Bartlett High School, Meaghan Parsons from St. Charles North High School, Kailey and Kendra Whipple from Streamwood High School, and Darlynn Sivilay from Larkin High School. These sophomore runners know first hand what it takes to win the Skyway Conference, and will try to bring home the Region IV title this time, and get back to the Nationals.
These experienced runners will need to help and push the newcomers and set a tone in practices. New to the team are Jaclyn Brisebois from Westminster Christian High School, Tess Tyton from Larkin High School, and CJ Houlis from Burlington Central High School. The freshmen, as a group, are very solid contributors and will really help out with the end results on every race!
It really should be a great year for the women in 2010! We will race every weekend leading up to the Skyway Conference and Region IV meets so that we will learn from each other on what we can and cannot do. The goals are set high for these young women, and I believe they know what to do. They just have to see it, and run for it themselves!
