Student Orientation
New College Student Orientation
All first-time college students must attend new student orientation. You will be assigned the earliest available orientation date once you have completed steps 1-3 of the enrollment process. These sessions are designed for the new student only. We strongly encourage parents/families to attend one of our parent/family orientations.
- Submit a completed ECC application for admission. Apply now»
- Submit your high school transcript. More»
- Demonstrate you have met ECC's minimum competency requirements in writing, reading and math. To determine which requirements you must meet, view Minimum Competency Requirements
- Submit ACT scores in English (20 or better ), Reading (18 or better), and Math (23 or better) or take ECC's placement test(s). More»
Date & place: Earliest available orientation will be assigned following completion of steps 1 - 3 above. Sessions take approximately four hours. During the session you will:
- Get to know other new students,current ECC students and staff
- Explore and use important resources, services and technologies
- Learn basic educational planning skills
- Register for classes
New students who have attended another college/university or are attending to complete courses for personal interest only, are exempt from this requirement. Other students requesting a waiver of this requirement may complete the orientation waiver form.
Parent/Family Orientation
topNew college students who have the support of their parents and/or families are more likely to succeed. We invite you to attend a parent/family orientation session to learn important details that will help you support your college student. To reserve your place, call 847-214-7385.
