Advanced Placement Tests
College Board Advanced Placement (AP) tests may be used to fulfill ECC course requirements in a variety of areas. They are nationally standardized, subject-specific tests taken at your high school after completing an Advanced Placement course. ECC courses which may be proficiencied by successfully completing Advanced Placement exams are shown here along with the AP score required for credit.

CLEP Testing
topThe College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a group of nationally standardized tests offered by appointment at the ECC Testing Center during regular hours. These computerized tests are usually best suited for those with considerable academic and life experiences. Students may take as many CLEP tests as they wish, most tests requiring 90 minutes to complete. Download instructions

ECC Proficiency Program
topProficiency credit earned at other accredited institutions is accepted at ECC if it applies to the degree or certificate the student intends to complete at ECC, and the institution recorded the proficiency credit on the student’s official transcript. Cost & fees: get details»
This program is a series of measures created by ECC to evaluate the equivalency of your experiences, knowledge and talents to college courses. Contact the dean and instructor of the appropriate academic department at the college to explore ECC proficiency credit. In addition to written exams, some of the other ways you may earn credit are detailed as follows.
Auditions
Vocalists, musicians, actors may perform for credit.
Native Language Proficiency
If English is your second language, you may test your native language, providing ECC has a qualified instructor, to earn college credit.
Portfolio Review
Graphic designers, artists and writers may have their bodies of work, exhibition experience, and published or purchased materials reviewed.
