Elgin Community College’s newest academic programs are in fields economists predict will experience significant job growth. The new programs offered this fall are:

3D Design

Choose from three new vocational specialist certificates in architectural design; Revit, a leading three-dimensional building modeling software; and Solidworks, a three-dimensional mechanical computer-aided design program.

Energy Management

Earn an associate degree or vocational specialist certificate in this hands-on program and learn to design, retrofit, test, balance and problem-solve environmental controls and computerized building automation systems. In addition, you’ll learn up-to-date methods of identifying and performing efficiency evaluations for energy management control in buildings, indoor air quality, and codes and standards set by the industry.

For those interested in self-employment, ECC’s virtual assistant program prepares students for a successful home-based career as an administrative assistant to entrepreneurs, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and corporations. Previous work experience in an office is highly recommended.
