Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy is the collection of blood specimens using venipuncture and dermal puncture techniques. Phlebotomists are often the first member of the laboratory team that the patient encounters. For this reason, students considering a career in phlebotomy should possess good communication skills in addition to being able to perform technical procedures accurately and react professionally in critical situations.

Note: Criminal background checks and drug testing are required for all health professions programs. Students demonstrating a positive background check or positive drug test will be denied admission to health professions programs. Students demonstrating a positive background check or positive drug test while enrolled in health professions programs will be dismissed from the program.
Admissions Procedures
All candidates must submit an official high school transcript or GED scores and official transcripts from other colleges/universities attended.
