Overview

You’re doing far more than preparing for a stage performance when you study theatre. Theatre prepares you for life by fostering creativity, communication, and collaboration skills that apply to various careers.

With multiple opportunities to perform, access to professional guest artists, proximity to Chicago’s thriving stage, television, radio, video, or film production scene, and the enthusiastic support of outstanding faculty, ECC’s theatre department offers a rich training ground for emerging artists. You can master basic acting and improvisational theatre skills, earn national certification in stage combat techniques, enjoy Performing Arts Club activities and productions, and participate in theatre trips to Chicago. Wherever your path leads, you’ll find yourself well-prepared to perform confidently and with poise.
