Student Orientation

New College Student Orientation

Required for all first-time students attending college during the fall and spring semesters. As soon as you have completed steps 1 - 3, you will be assigned the earliest available orientation date and place. These sessions are designed for the new student to attend and we strongly encourage parents/families to attend one of our parent/family orientations.

  1. Submit a completed ECC application for admission. Apply now»
  2. Submit your high school transcript. More»
  3. Complete placement testing in math, writing and reading. More»

Date & place: earliest available orientation will be assigned. Orientation sessions take approximately four hours. During the session you will:

  • Get to know other new students, current ECC students and staff
  • Explore and utilize pertinent resources, services and technologies
  • Learn to use basic educational planning tools (class schedule booklet and college catalog)
  • Register for classes

Parent/Family Orientation

New college students who have the support of their parents and/or families are more likely to succeed. We invite you to attend a parent/family orientation session to learn important details that will help you support your college student. To reserve your place, call 847-214-7385.
