WFD    546    Forklift Operator Training

This four-hour class provides participants with the basic skills and knowledge to operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) in a safe, efficient manner. The first three hours consists of classroom instruction that covers 22 topics required by OSHA followed by a written test. The last hour consists of hands-on driving practice. Participants that pass both portions receive a certificate of completion from Equipment Depot at the end of class. Note that this course does not include evaluation and certification by participants' employers as to their driving ability on their employers' forklifts. Employer certification means that the employer states that the employee is competent to operate a powered industrial truck per OSHA regulations. Training takes place on the first Tuesday of every month from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: All classes are held at Equipment Depot of Illinois, 751 Expressway Drive, Itasca, IL 60143. Students must be at least 18 years of age to take this course per OSHA regulations.
