Season Outlook
The 2010 season starts off with four very talented, hard working individuals. We have two returning runners from last year's squad. Leading the way, and on paper our #1 runner, is Kyle Kopinski from Jacobs High School. With Kyle going to the NJCAA Nationals last year and competing at that high of a level, his experience should reflect in positive ways on the new guys on the team. Our other returning runner, who will get noticed very quickly around the area, is Alex Kembitzky also from Jacobs High School. Alex's work ethic in the off-season has shown that he wants to be known as an elite runner in the region. Both of these runners will provide great leadership for our team on and off the course!
Our incoming freshmen are Tom Small from Elgin High School and Keldrin Franz from Dundee-Crown High School who are both quality and excellent runners. They will fit in well with the running scene that we have here. They just have to get used to the 8k's races, and I do not see that being a problem with these two runners.
With the season lasting just a couple of months, I wanted to make sure we are racing every weekend leading up to the Skyway Conference and Region IV meets. That way we can make adjustments during the season so we know what to do at the end when it counts! It's not how you start the season, it's how you finish the season. I want to make sure my men know that and are ready for that challenge.
