Kids' College Week 4 Classes Start July 13

There is still time to join the fun we are having during Kids' College 2015!  Our six-week program offers over 50 class sections held on the beautiful ECC campus for students ages 6 through 15.  Most classes run for three hours a day either in morning or afternoon on Mondays through Thursdays.  Here are some of the courses we are running starting this coming Monday, July 13:

"Writing Academy" for ages 11 to 15.  Meet published authors Penny Blubaugh, Cynthea Liu, Norm Cowie, and Eileen Favorite who will take you through the writing process from start to finish.  Each day one of these authors will workshop a different aspect of writing and publishing while you have fun developing stories, writing humor, mastering character communication, marketing to publishers, participating in group discussions while you bring your ideas to life!  This class runs an extra two hours each day Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. so you get 20 hours with these professionals!  Course code is CEK 034 200.

"Anthropology Academy - the Romans" for ages 9 to 12.  Learn what it was like to live in the Roman Empire.  Students will learn about Roman culture, daily life, imperial and artistic triumphs, and gladiator combat!  Instructor Leona Vattimo works for the N.W. Harris Learning Collection located at the Field Museum in Chicago.  This class runs four days from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  Course code is CEK 038 200.

Kids' College 2015 Starts This Monday, June 22

11 Kids' College morning and afternoon courses are scheduled to start this Monday, June 22, 2015 at Elgin Community College.

There are still seats available for Duct Tape Art, Inventor's Camp, Minecraft Modding with Java (one and two week classes available), Be Your Own Creative Artist, Printmaking, Making HTML5 Web Games, Making an iPhone Game, and Summer Theater.
