SUB 215 Basic Substance Abuse & Treatment

This course will introduce the student to the nature of substance use disorders. This will include the development, symptoms, consequences, and prevention and treatment of abuse and dependence. Assessment; methods of treatment; strategies for client engagement and retention; client and community education; and referral and coordination with other services providers will be included. (1.2) Proficiency Credit Not Available Pass/No Credit Not Available NOTE: This course is offered concurrently as HUS 215. The student must decide whether to earn credits in Substance Abuse Counseling (SUB) or Human Services (HUS) prior to enrolling.
