MUS 155 Seminar in Music Business

Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in RDG 091, an ACT Reading score of 18 or above or an appropriate placement score. Grade of C or better in ENG 098, an ACT English score of 20 or above, or an appropriate placement score

This course is designed to provide students with knowledge and experience of the changing music industry. Students will develop an understanding of the many facets of the music business, including promotion, distribution, copyright law, and legal issues. Students will review and create contracts that govern the relationships between producers, record label, distributors, club owners, and investors.
