MAS 250 Business for Massage Therapists
Credit Hours: 2.5
Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in MAS 110

In this course students will learn to create and sustain a fulfilling, thriving, successful business through topics such as practice settings, business start-up, business and financial management, marketing and how to write a business plan. In addition, students will discuss and learn goal setting, time management, motivation, social responsibility, therapeutic communication, professionalism and ethics. Students will define target markets and develop marketing materials, as well as identify success strategies and obstacles to success when managing a business. Local business people will guest lecture during this course, sharing their experience and taking questions from students. Students will create a resume and cover letter and practice interview skills based on their new profession as a massage therapist.
