Prerequisite: Reading: Grade of C or better in RDG 091 or LTC 099, an ACT Reading score of 18 or above, or an appropriate placement score. Writing: Grade of C or better in ENG 098 or LTC 099, an ACT English score of 20, or an appropriate placement score.+

This course is concerned with the history of major developments in the United States of America from the colonial period to the present. Students will be asked to assess the ways in which Americans have extended the Western tradition, and they also will be expected to analyze the distinctive cultural contributions of the United States.
