Prerequisite: Reading: Grade of C or better in RDG 091, an ACT Reading score of 18 or above, or an appropriate placement score. Writing: Grade of C or better in ENG 098, an ACT English score of 20, or an appropriate placement score.+

This course examines the political, social, intellectual, cultural and economic history of non-western cultures of Asia, Africa and Latin America. A particular focus is placed on the origins of contemporary non-western societies and the varied responses and adaptations to modernity and Western influences.
