ESL 010 Beginning ESL Literacy
Variable Credit Hours: 0.5 - 6 Increment: 0.5
Prerequisite: Must be a non-native speaker of English who needs to work on basic skills. A placement test and departmental consent are required. Students on certain types of visas may not qualify for the program.

Beginning ESL Literacy is for individuals who have little or no knowledge of English but who are literate in their first language. At this level, students will begin to acquire language survival skills in speaking, listening, and writing. Students will also begin to understand and develop the learning skills and study habits necessary for successful language learning. In addition, they will learn to become full participants in routine classroom settings. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 24 credit hours.
