ECE 204 Exceptional Individual
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite: ECE 174 or PSY 212

A survey course that presents the historical, philosophical and legal foundations of special education, as well as an overview of the characteristics of individuals with disabilities, the programs that serve them under the Individuals with Disabilities Act, and the diversity of the populations of individuals with disabilities. A 30 hour clinical component is required for this course. (1.1) Proficiency Credit Not Available Pass/No Credit Not Available NOTE: This course is offered concurrently as EDN 204. The student must decide whether to earn credits in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Education (EDN) prior to enrolling. Students enrolled in EDN 100, EDN 204 and EDN 211 may be required to complete a background check/fingerprinting process in order to participate in the clinical component of this class. Students will be responsible for any fee charged.
