CenterStage
Mose Allison
CANCELLED
The Blizzard Theatre
The
performance by Mose Allison originally set for Saturday, November 3 at the
Elgin Community College Arts Center has been cancelled. The musician has cut
back his performance schedule due to the advice of his physicians. A
spokesperson for the Allison family states that he was looking forward to his
Elgin performance and sincerely regrets the cancellation but at this time his
physicians have suggested that he limit his performance schedule.
“Mose Allison
is more than a mere national treasure,” says Steve Duchrow, ECC Arts Center
Director of Performing Arts, “He has sent the breath of his art and music into
the largest corners of the globe, and into the tiniest and most silent places
of the human heart. I, and the staff at the Elgin Community College Arts
Center, have relished our contact with Mose Allison, his wife Audre, and his
family while scheduling this engagement during the last six months. We, and his
many devoted fans, are disappointed at the cancellation but understand and
fully support the need to protect his strength and well-being at this time.”
The ECC Arts
