Surgical Technology

The Surgical Technology program (SGT) prepares you to become a
skilled and valued member of the operating room team. On-campus
courses in combination with clinical practice at area hospitals equip
you to work under the direction of a surgeon and operating room nurse
during operative procedures. Graduates of the surgical technology
program are eligible to sit for the national certification exam given
by the Association of Surgical Technologists that provides a
nationally recognized credential of competency in the field. The ECC
Surgical Technology program is accredited by the Commission on
Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in
cooperation with the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in
Surgical Technology(ARC/STSA).
