The surgical technology program (SGT) prepares you to become a
skilled and valued member of the operating room team. On campus
courses in combination with clinical practice at area hospitals equip
you to work under the direction of a surgeon or operating room nurse
where your duties as a surgical technologist are likely to include
preparing the operating room, handling instruments and supplies
during the procedure, and ensuring patient safety.

The surgical technology program is accredited by the Commission on
Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in
cooperation with the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in
Surgical Technology(ARC/STSA).
