Spartans' Achievements - 2013-2014

 

Men's Baseball

The Spartans finished in sixth place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings.

  • Brian Sobieski was named to the NJCAA All-American Second Team.
  • Dan Burman, Sawyer Chambers and Brian Sobieski were named to the Region IV All-Region Team.
  • Blake Alexander, Dane Burman, Sawyer Chambers, Troy Dykhuis and Brian Sobieski were named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
  • Joshua Loynachan, Ryan Kramer, Mike Murphy, Drew Peters and Sean Reszotko earned ISCC Academic All-Conference honors.

 

Men's Basketball

The Spartans finished in sixth place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings.

  • Zachary Cooper was named to the Region IV All-Region Team.
  • Matt Chaltin, Zachary Cooper, Raynard Judkins and Brock Ralphs were named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
  • Zachary Cooper was an Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship recipient.

 

Women's Basketball

The Spartans finished in third place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings.

  • Jen Dumoulin was named to the Region IV All-Region Team.
  • Jen Dumoulin, Alexa Diaz, and Sarah Nelson were named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
  • Sarah Nelson was an Elgin Sports hall of Fame Scholarship recipient.

 

Men's Cross Country

  • Peter Lennard earned ISCC Academic All-Conference honors.

 

Women's Cross Country

  • Carolyn Schneider was an NJCAA National Championship qualifier.
  • Carolyn Schneider was named to the Region IV All-Region Team.
  • Guadalupe Machuca and Carolyn Schneider were named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
  • Taylor Crawford earned ISCC Academic All-Conference honors.

 

Men's Golf

The Spartans finished in fifth place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and finished sixth in the Region IV Tournament.

  • Eric Burchfield was named to the Region IV All-Region Team, the ISCC All-Conference Team and qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament.
  • Connor Williams was named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.

 

Men's Soccer

The Spartans finished in sixth place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings.

  • Carlos Avina, Fabian Gasca and Juan D. Ramirez were named to the Region IV All-Region Team.
  • Carlos Avina, Fabian Gasca and Mitch Tyton were named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
  • Alberto Olea earned ISCC Academic All-Conference honors.

 

Women's Soccer

The Spartans finished in fourth place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings. 

  • Fabiola Ramirez, Tanya Garcia and Emily Stevens were named to the Region IV All-Region Team.
  • Fabiola Ramirez, Tanya Garcia, Abigail Alvarez, Ana Carmona, Liza Moreno and Cayleigh Ballard were named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
  • Emily Stevens earned ISCC Academic All-Conference honors.

 

Women's Softball

The Spartans did not field a team for the 2014 season.

 

Men's Tennis

The Spartans finished in ninth place at the Region IV Tournament and finished fourth in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings.

  • Alejandro Molina Hoyos earned an NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement and was named to the ISCC Academic All-Conference Team.

 

Women's Tennis

The Spartans finished in first place in both the Region IV Tournament, thus qualifying for the NJCAA National Tournament, and in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings.

  • The team finished 23rd in a field of 31 teams at the NJCAA Nationals.
  • Natalie Judkins, Stacy Krach and Maria Morales-Nelson were named to the Region IV All-Region Team.
  • Maria Morales-Nelson received the ISCC Dick Durrant Sophomore Academic Athlete of the Year award and was named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
  • The team qualified for the NJCAA All-Academic Team award.
  • Maria Morales-Nelson qualified for the NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement.
  • Aida De la Fuente, Natalie Judkins, Stacy Krach, June Lynch and Maria Morales-Nelson each earned ISCC Academic All-Conference honors.
  • Head coach Clark Hallpike was named the Region IV and ISCC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

 

Women's Volleyball

The Spartans finished in sixth place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference standings.

  • Alyssa Montag and Alyssa Serewicz were named to the ISCC All-Conference Team.
