ECC Overview
College History
ECC was founded January 10, 1949 by the District U-46 Board of Education. In July, 1965, the Illinois General Assembly passed the Junior College Act and later that fall, Community College District #509 was born. By 1966, ECC was granted Class I status by the State Board of Higher Education and local voters elected the first District 509 Board of Trustees. More»
