Trustee Biography


Dr. Donna Redmer

Dr. Donna Redmer is an educational restructuring coach with the Regional Office of Education who was first elected to the board in 2009. A resident of West Dundee, she has 28 years of education experience and five years of local small business ownership. Dr. Redmer is a graduate of ECC, earning an Associate of Arts degree. She went on to earn master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and completed her doctorate at Vanderbilt University, Nashville.

In 2009, Dr. Redmer received the YWCA Harriet Gifford and Hattie Griffin Award for Education for educational success in improving schools in the Elgin area and beyond. A decade earlier, she was among those alumni honored as ECC’s "Fabulous 50" during the college’s celebration of its 50th anniversary. In the community, she has served in leadership positions, including as principal of Neubert Elementary School in District 300; founding member of the District 300 Foundation; board member of the Dundee Township Cemetery; stewardship committee member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church; volunteer coordinator of Raceway Woods; past-president of the Kane County Principals Organization; and was acknowledged as one of the inaugural distinguished alumni of District 300 by the foundation for her significant accomplishments to one’s profession or service to the community.
