Robert A. Getz
Robert A. Getz is a retired college administrator from Elgin who was first elected to the board in April, 2003. He is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in history. He also is a graduate of the Army's Command and General Staff College, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Mr. Getz served two tours of duty in Vietnam being awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge and Vietnam's Honor Medal, First Class, while assigned to the Military Assistance Command and was awarded two Bronze Star Medals while serving his second tour with the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
Before retirement, he served on the executive board of the Illinois Council of Community College Administrators, was the state coordinator of the Illinois Community College Facilities Officers Association, and a past vice president for information services of the Association of Facilities Officers in Higher Education from which he was presented with their President's Award and Meritorious Service Award.
