LIT 223 International Literature
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite: Reading: Grade of C or better in RDG 091 or LTC 099, an ACT Reading score of 18 or above, or an appropriate placement score. Writing: Grade of C or better in ENG 098 or LTC 099, an ACT English score of 20, or an appropriate placement score.

In this course students will read literature from outside the Western tradition (US, Canada, Australia, Western Europe). The course will emphasize works from South America, Central America, and Mexico in North America as well as Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa. Students will study cultural traditions as well as mainstream published literature. (1.1) Fulfills the ECC/IAI General Education/Humanities requirement.
